SYN: "CATHEDRAL OF LOVE" WORLD PREMIERE
--------------------------------------------

In a stunning surprise for unsuspecting listeners, Don Cassidy of Delicious Agony Progressive Rock Radio -- by special arrangement with The Syn -- broadcast the World Premiere of the complete, 9-minute, full-length-version of the new Syn song, "Cathedral of Love", on Thursday evening, April 28th, during the weekly South Side of the Sky Show.

http://www.deliciousagony.com

The song is highly significant, because it is the first collaborative work of Chris Squire and Stephen Nardelli since 1967... and the results are wonderful! If "Cathedral of Love" is their first effort in this reunion, the future looks very bright indeed!

Nardelli had already written the song before Squire rejoined the Syn last November. But of course, Chris brings with him the legendary "cheese-grater effect" -- (with which all YES fans are familiar). When the individual talents of Nardelli, Squire, Johnson and the two Stacey brothers are combined, the results are more than any one individual could have produced alone -- and the fans have been thrilled with the results! We are now tracking the first fan responses to the new Syn material. Below are a few excerpts from the fan comments:

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Man, CoL is Cool! Great lyrics! ...

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The Syn's new song, "Cathedral of Love" is fantastic! I had an idea formed in my head about how it would sound this whole time, but I was very surprised and elated by what The Syn has produced. Let's put it this way, at 9 minutes in length, it's too short! "Cathedral of Love" left me wanting more....

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Vocal is sort of Cream meets John Mayall and the Blues Breakers....

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I'm impressed! That had my full attention! ....

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
"Cathedral of Love" is not like anything I have ever heard, so there is no comparing it to another band, or sound. It's genuinely unique. Modern, yet reminiscent of music past. Proggy, but not familiar, a new sound. I almost want to say that it's very "adult" -- seasoned, if you will....

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I just listened to a true masterwork. "Cathedral of Love" is amazing on every level! ....

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
It definitely has the feel of "it was meant to be". The sound is so comfortable, mature and elegant....

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The music itself is quite beautiful. Melancholy and forlorn at the beginning, rising to a middle section that really cooks. Chris' bass lines swirl, not showy, but very full and smartly chosen bass runs. Paul Stacey is an amazing guitar player! He has a great sound, and is very very talented. His brother Jeremy is a tight, awesome drummer, and Gerard Johnson's keyboards are very tasty. Nothing extravagant or showy, just perfectly placed flourishes here and there. Which is exactly what this song requires....

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
It is refreshingly wonderful. Can't wait to see the band this summer!...

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
These guys have got ALL of the good prog elements in place, and they surely do know what to do with them! ....that dream at the end of the song.... I think I'll just float here for a while....

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
"Cathedral of Love" is quite simply beautiful, majestic and grand beyond words. Mr. Nardelli is bloody brilliant. I am so impressed. His voice is so gentle, forward, deliberate and full of grace and humility. Amazingly, in equal parts all. It's chilling, really. Not haunting, but spine tingling in its ability to resonate and connect. His writing is clear, deliberate and possesses a passion that is by turns both moving and meditative. I am not at all surprised, but nonetheless very, very impressed. Wow! What a talent! ....

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Syntelligence! ....

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Oh man, I love it. I can't believe I got here just in time to hear it! ...

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Chris has a deep love for classical music. A love for classical thought. A love for classical literature, and bloody hell: Chris Squire IS a classic. I am heartened to know that this music, so sublime, that which has captured us, isn't an accident. The origin is pure. Squire has heart. Passion. Chris Squire is bigger than his legend. And that's saying something....

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
This is awesome! I have chills! ...

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Steve Nardelli has the heart of Jon, a tangent to the spiritual side, a tether to the world. And he's a poet.... And The Never Ending Story goes on and on and on....

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
There is a real maturity in this music... you know, these guys have all been around the block. The days of showboating for no real reason have passed, and it's time to pay tribute to what really matters... beauty, friendship, loyalty, compassion, the healing that we find in relationships, the openness of expression with nothing held back... it's all there in this song. No fear. ...

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
This is something very special. VERY! ....

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
"Wow! This is absolute PROG! Listen to that bass-line, what about that Beatley guitar-line? Sitars are in effect. What's Paul Stacey using on his guitar? A great effect! ...

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
YES! I got here just in time. I love it! I can't believe I have to wait to get it! ....

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Put Steve Nardelli on vocals and you've got the master line-up: Squire, Downes, White, Howe, Nardelli - Wow! This tour is going to be amazing! ...

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

"Cathedral of Love" is winning the hearts of the fans wherever it is heard! You'll be able to hear this track live during the summer tour -- and yes, we're STILL waiting for the tour dates.

"Cathedral of Love" will be on the new Syn CD, "Syndestructible," tentatively scheduled for release on the Umbrello Records label before the summer tour begins in July.

In the meantime, the historic archival Syn material can still be purchased, although the inventory is getting very low. It won't be long now before the YesServices Special Edition of "Original Syn" will be sold out and out-of-print forever! Last call!
